Super Effort

One of the kid's favorite stations for the week included making pictures and telling how many tens and ones they used to construct their picture.  They spent so much time, effort and energy in the detail of their pictures.  A few even made a picture on the front and back of the paper!  Very excited to showcase their masterpieces!!!  :)

Superheroes

Did you know we all have superpowers?  We can tackle reading, fly through our numbers, see into the past and jump into the scientific process.  The kids helped each other by becoming superheroes this week.  

Their minds absolutely amaze me.  We had so much fun!

Happy New Year!  I am so excited to begin 2015 with these creative minds!

Coding, Coding and More Coding

We had an awesome week filled with coding, algorithms and programming. We rotated through the Learning Commons and the kids had to give very specific instructions to tell their partner how to build their Lego sculpture without looking!  

Sometimes it worked!!!

Sometimes it did not.

They also got to program a tree to use lights.  They loved it!!!!!

On Friday we had an Hour of Code which was a huge success!!!  They kid laughed and laughed at their "tiny dog." 

They did the happy dance when they passed a level.

The favorite of the day was programming the Angry Birds!  :)

Our week of code was an absolute success!!!!
