Hearts

Crazy how much I love these kids!  They make my heart smile and fill my heart with joy.  We had so much fun making hearts with our shadows.  We make hearts to each other all day long.
 

Veteran's Day

I come from an Army family, so Veteran's Day means a lot to me.   My dad was a Major in the Army, and both my husband and brother were Army sergeants.  As a school we place flags out front to honor all veterans, and our kids had a wonderful time doing that.  

IMPORTANT

VERY IMPORTANT FROM OUR WONDERFUL SCHOOL NURSE!!!

EVERY student needs to keep a change of clothes in their back pack or locker.  Students of all ages fall in the mud, spill their food or vomit on clothing items, and a change of clothing can be very helpful for the student.  I do not currently have clothing in the clinic to fit most kiddos.

Commitment

Every morning we make a commitment as we begin our day.  These commitments include using Helpful Hands, Listening Ears, Big Voice and/or Kind Words.  We talk about our commitments regularly, and how important they are to helping our classroom run safely and smoothly.  We are a school family, and we love each other very much.  We want to treat our friends with love and respect and be our best to help others be their best!  

Treasure Your Littles

So I spent last week at camp with my Macey Girl!  It was one of the best experiences of my life.  We had so much fun!

Being at camp reminded me they grow up so fast!  They are only little for a little while.  Treasure each day with your child and make it THE BEST DAY EVER!  I promise to try and make it the best day ever for "our" little loves every day!!  💗 I cannot wait to see them tomorrow.  I missed them while I was gone treasuring my Macey time!  

Home Sweet Classroom

  When I see this quote it fills my heart with absolute joy.  I wake up every day grateful for the opportunity to love what I do and share that love with our children.  I hope you know they all have a special place in my heart, and our room is their Home Sweet Classroom!  I promise to do all I can to make every single day memorable and happy for them.  Thank you for sharing them with me!  I love them so...  💗 Mrs. R

Friendships

We spent the week talking about Friendships!  We love our school family.  We ended our week with a Friendship Feast and eating our Friendship Salad.  Thank you for all the pieces of fruit to add to our salad.  It was delicious!  Here are a few pics.  Even got into one myself.  💓

A Note abt Box Tops

Hi Teachers! 

 

Congrats on a great start to the school year!  I am a bit behind on getting info out about box tops this year, but I wanted to let you know that we will be doing a competition between classes again for the most box tops collected.  The class that turns in the most box tops will win a popcorn party and get to hold on to the trophy! 

 

Our first due date is approaching quickly. I’d like all box tops turned in to the PTA box in the office by Friday, Oct 20.  Between you and me, I can still accept the late ones the following week, but I need time to prepare them to be mailed in before Oct 31. 

 

Students can turn in their box tops in baggies, envelopes, or on a collection sheet, labeled with their teacher’s name.  Collection sheets can be found at https://www.boxtops4education.com/about/collection-sheets and a collection sheet will hopefully be going home next week. 

 

I’d appreciate it if you would put this info about box tops on your blogs.  We earned $862.80 last year from box tops and this year our goal is $1000.  Just think about what great things $1000 would do for our school!!  I know we can do it!

Time to Taste

Our taste test faces were soooooo cute!  Some things got a thumbs up!!!  CRUNCHY crackers, SALTY chips, SWEET gummies and YUMMY TO OUR TUMMY M&M's were among the thumbs up!

 

Somethings got a thumbs down - lemons were not a hit with all!

 

Some just got the cutest little SOUR faces ever!!!!!  

Some were not even sure if they wanted to try???

All in all we had a wonderful time leaning all about our five senses.

CrossWALK

Today we learned all about the CrossWALK from a real crossing guard.  The kids even got to WALK in the CrossWALK safely.  The kids learned it is not called a CrossRUN, a CrossSPIN or a CROSSdance.  We learned all about the rules of staying safe at Christie, especially in the CrossWALK.  Our kids know it is their job to stay safe and our job to keep them safe.  Christie is a safe and fun school for everyone.  

My heart is so happy here and growing bigger daily watching Christie become your child's school family.  Thank you for sharing them with us!  We promise to take excellent care of them.  One of my favorite quotes ever....

We are learning all about our brains.  Your child's mind amazes me!!!  I was so impressed with what the children already knew and what they said to fill in our web.  We will continue to learn about our brains, feelings and how to calm ourselves down, breathe and use our words to exoress our emotions.  Ask your child all about what they have learned.  It will amaze you!!!

1st Week

I cannot express enough how unbelievablely grateful I am for my job!  I am already crazy about my kids.  We have had so much fun this week.  We have spent a lot of time getting to know each other, listening to our friends and as Patrick says, "Making best friends!"  We dance.  We laugh.  We share.  We truly care!  We are already a school family and kind to our new friends.   

If you have not had your child bring in a picture of your family please send one in.  If you need me to print your picture please email it to me, and I will be happy to print it out for you.   Walgreens knows me well as I am always printing pictures!  Just picked up a bunch today.  You will have a sweet surprise of your little darling's First Day of Pre-K  at our conference on Oct. 10th!

Meet the Teacher

I was so excited for Meet the Teacher that I forgot to take pics!  So in love with my kids!!!!  They have stolen my heart already.  Plus having my Kinder babies (and old 1st graders who are now 3rd/4th) come to visit too filled me with overflowing joy!!  Beyond blessed...  💓 

This year is going to be the best year ever!!!  I am excited to make some magic with my kiddos and Miss Taylor!

Last Week of School FUN

 

We are going to have fun in our last week of a school!  Please see the paper that is in your child's folder about how we will celebrate the final 3 1/2 days!!  Thank you for sharing these precious kids with me this year.  They have my heart, and I love them sooooo!!!!!!

Career Day

We had so much fun today!!!!  We had police.  We had basketball players.  We had doctors/vets.  The kids were so cute dressed up!   

 

 

 

 

It started off with the firefighters.  They were fascinated.

Celebration

I wasn't there on Friday, but my amazing paras took over and had the best day with the kids!  Our kids are so blessed to have Mrs. McGuill and Mrs. Yarbrough!!!!  

 

 

They made maracas, hats, dressed up and marched the school in their celebration!  So cool!!!  

 

 

We LOVE these ladies so much!!!  Thank you both for all you do for the kids.  They adore you!
