We are gearing up for the first ever Engineering Expo on May 21st. The overarching question for our first graders is:
For our end of the year party our parent volunteers will be dropping off freeze pops. What can you create to help to keep the freeze pops from melting too fast?
The kids will be going through the process of asking questions, imagining, planning, creating and improving their prototypes. Please talk to your kids about how they can solve this problem using everyday items. Also, please talk to them about the importance of thinking through the process to improve and not just coming up with an end product. Being a successful engineer is all about the process involved not just the end product.
We are very excited to continue to learn how and why it is important to think like a true engineer!!!
